Right from the start of the plan­ning phase we offer our exper­tise to the own­ers or oper­a­tors of pow­er and incin­er­a­tion plants in order to achieve high eco­nom­ic and eco­log­i­cal effi­cien­cy and to min­imise the side effects with regard to cor­ro­sion and foul­ing lat­er, when the plant is in operation.

Fuel diag­nos­tics is an impor­tant tool in the plan­ning phase. It trans­lates the prop­er­ties of the fuel to prop­er­ties of the flue gas by means of test com­bus­tion. This pro­vides infor­ma­tion on which require­ments are to be expect­ed for mate­ri­als and pro­tec­tive coat­ings (e.g. refrac­to­ry mate­ri­als, spray coat­ings, build-up welds, etc.) in the steam gen­er­a­tor, and so pre­vents pre­ma­ture corrosion.

In addi­tion to the fuel char­ac­ter­is­tics this assess­ment also takes into account the basic para­me­ters of the fir­ing sys­tem, the steam gen­er­a­tor and the planned mode of oper­a­tion. It allows us to devel­op pro­pos­als about which pro­tec­tive coat­ings at what loca­tions promise advan­tages, which addi­tion­al instal­la­tions would be advis­able and whether the use of addi­tives might be advantageous.

Dur­ing the instal­la­tion phase, we pro­vide sup­port in the form of qual­i­ty assur­ance mea­sures. Along­side the supplier’s QA, we pro­vide an addi­tion­al neu­tral input dur­ing the appli­ca­tion of mate­ri­als to ensure qual­i­ty require­ments. The essen­tial aspect here is that we can derive the spe­cif­ic qual­i­ty require­ments from the assess­ment of the lat­er oper­a­tional load pro­files and thus sup­port the achieve­ment of mate­ri­als’ cus­tomised per­for­mance characteristics.

The fol­low­ing com­mis­sion­ing phase (which can last from months to years) is the cru­cial oppor­tu­ni­ty to iden­ti­fy neu­ral­gic areas, per­form major steps of opti­mi­sa­tion, and ensure a high lev­el of plant avail­abil­i­ty. With our range of tools (probes, sen­sors, cam­era) and holis­tic con­cepts (CEE), we sup­port you in “get­ting to know” your process char­ac­ter­is­tics. This process com­ple­ments and strength­ens any war­ran­ty claims.

Over the years, this grad­u­al­ly tran­si­tions into the long-term con­tin­u­ous sup­port for oper­a­tional opti­mi­sa­tion (online and offline).
