Support during planning and commissioning
– gaining early added value from CheMin’s know-how
Right from the start of the planning phase we offer our expertise to the owners or operators of power and incineration plants in order to achieve high economic and ecological efficiency and to minimise the side effects with regard to corrosion and fouling later, when the plant is in operation.
Fuel diagnostics is an important tool in the planning phase. It translates the properties of the fuel to properties of the flue gas by means of test combustion. This provides information on which requirements are to be expected for materials and protective coatings (e.g. refractory materials, spray coatings, build-up welds, etc.) in the steam generator, and so prevents premature corrosion.
In addition to the fuel characteristics this assessment also takes into account the basic parameters of the firing system, the steam generator and the planned mode of operation. It allows us to develop proposals about which protective coatings at what locations promise advantages, which additional installations would be advisable and whether the use of additives might be advantageous.
During the installation phase, we provide support in the form of quality assurance measures. Alongside the supplier’s QA, we provide an additional neutral input during the application of materials to ensure quality requirements. The essential aspect here is that we can derive the specific quality requirements from the assessment of the later operational load profiles and thus support the achievement of materials’ customised performance characteristics.
The following commissioning phase (which can last from months to years) is the crucial opportunity to identify neuralgic areas, perform major steps of optimisation, and ensure a high level of plant availability. With our range of tools (probes, sensors, camera) and holistic concepts (CEE), we support you in “getting to know” your process characteristics. This process complements and strengthens any warranty claims.
Over the years, this gradually transitions into the long-term continuous support for operational optimisation (online and offline).
